発熱、咳、runny 鼻水、熱性けいれん を来たし、同県の病院に入院中。
小児は 家禽(ニワトリおよびアヒル)に接触したようである。
Tamiflu タミフルを投与され、病状は現在、安定している。
同国での 2006年3月の発生から 121人目。

5 January 2011 – The Ministry of Health of Egypt has announced four new cases of human infection with H5N1 avian influenza.

Epidemiological comments
Dead bodies of wild mallard ducks [野生マガモ] were reported to the local authorities. Test in the NVRQS detected H5N1 HPAI virus antigen from some samples. The area within 10km radius from the detection spot was put under movement control. Disinfection and clinical surveillance in that area has been intensified.
There were also notifications about suspected HPAI cases from farms. Those were proved as [農場でも] HPAI virus H5N1 subtype in the NVRQS. The poultry in the affected farms were culled. Disinfection and clinical surveillance in the area within 10km radius from the affected farms were enhanced.

Affected Population The chicken carcass from unknown source was detected on the coast of Lantau Island. The body was badly decomposed [ひどく腐乱したニワトリ 1羽の死骸をランタオ島の海岸で発見] at the time of collection.
疫学的コメント
Since the occurrence of the event, inspections of the Lantau coast and the nearby villages have been conducted, no poultry carcass was found and there was no evidence of any backyard poultry being kept there (the HKSAR government has banned backyard poultry since February 2006). There was no poultry farm within three kilometres of where the carcass was found. The HKSAR government will continue to monitor the situation including wild bird surveillance and local poultry farm monitoring. The date of event ended is the same as the finding of the bird (i.e. 18 Dec 2010).

The Ministry of Health of Egypt has announced 2 new cases of human infection with H5N1 avian influenza.
11歳、少女。ルクソール県 Esna district [郡?、区]
検査により鳥インフルエンザ H5N1ウイルス確認。
2010年12月18日発症し、同月19日、入院。重症の呼吸器症状を来たし、人工呼吸器装着した (同月23日死亡)。抗ウイルス薬による治療を行った。家禽との接触・暴露に関する情報なし。感染源調査中。
