Epidemiological comments
Dead bodies of wild mallard ducks [野生マガモ] were reported to the local authorities. Test in the NVRQS detected H5N1 HPAI virus antigen from some samples. The area within 10km radius from the detection spot was put under movement control. Disinfection and clinical surveillance in that area has been intensified.
There were also notifications about suspected HPAI cases from farms. Those were proved as [農場でも] HPAI virus H5N1 subtype in the NVRQS. The poultry in the affected farms were culled. Disinfection and clinical surveillance in the area within 10km radius from the affected farms were enhanced.
