[カスピ海の西南岸] アゼルバイジャン共和国の西部 Samukh (Samux) 県[rayon]の家禽農場[複数]で鳥の大量死がみられ、死んだ鳥[野鳥, 家禽の別の明記なし]の血液検体の 1つから鳥インフルエンザウイルスが検出された (state veterinary services 公立獣医サービス *)。鳥インフルエンザ発生後、鳥の狩猟は 1か月間禁止 (同国環境省)となった。

Officials say Azeri dog dies of bird flu

A dog has died of bird flu in Azerbaijan, a country on the crossroads of Europe and Asia where 3 people have already died from the virus, officials said on Wednesday [15 Mar 2006].

It said the dog died on 9 Mar 2006 in the capital Baku.

It was the first dog reported to have died of the virus in Europe, although Germany has reported that at least 3 cats and one stone marten have been infected. Austria has also reported cats infected with the deadly H5N1 strain of flu [This report from Austria is subject to review -- see ProMED post 20060313.0789 - Mod.JW].

Thailand finds bird flu in dog for the 1st time

Asia’s deadly bird flu has been found in a dog for the 1st time in Thailand, authorities said on Sunday [3 Oct 2004]. …

“We have found that a dog was infected by the H5N1 virus,” she [, Health Ministry spokeswoman Nittaya Chanruangmahaphol ,] said, adding that the case was confirmed by laboratory tests conducted at 2 Thai universities. She gave no further details, but Thai newspapers reported on Sunday [3 Oct 2004] that the dog was still alive.

中部 Chon Buri チョンブリー県 Khao Khiew 動物園の clouded leopard ウンピョウ 1頭が鳥インフルエンザに感染し死んだ。ホワイトタイガー 1頭も感染したが回復し現在、監視下である。

渡り鳥の [コウノトリの一種] シロスキハシコウ( Asian openbill stork 白隙嘴鸛) 3羽がタイ Nakhon Sawan ナーコンサワン県で死んだ。外国から鳥インフルエンザウイルス亜型 H5N1を持ち込んだとは考え難い (当局)。

2004年1月27日から、野鳥保護区域である ナーコンサワン県内の湿地 Bung Boraphet (300羽 or 約 500羽) および バンコク都 Bangkok’s Lat Krabang ラートクラバン区 (約 500羽)で、シロスキハシコウが死んだが、この場所では鳥インフルエンザに感染した家禽が発見された。

タイ最大の淡水湖と湿地帯 Bung Boraphet では、病気の拡大予防のため、死骸を埋めて消毒剤を撒布した。

ラートクラバン区のコウノトリ大量死後、最大 20 000羽の野鳥の処分を農業省に指示する (担当官)との記事[1]もあるが、[10 Feb 2004] 計画なし[2]。

[ほとんどが湿地帯の] ラートクラバン区の Phut Khao 鳥公園および 東部 Chachoengsao チャチューンサオ県 Wang Nam Priew のシロスキハシコウの検体を検査のため収集した [11 Feb 2004]。

渡り鳥であるシロスキハシコウの死骸の検査で、30-40%が鳥インフルエンザウイルスに感染していた [10 Feb 2004/ 天然資源環境省 Minister of Natural Resources and Environment]。

タイ中央部の 4県 (スコータイ県 Sukhothai, ウタイターニー県 Uthai Thani, ロッブリー県 Lopburi, チャチューンサオ県 Chachoengsao から収集した 11検体から鳥インフルエンザウイルスが検出された。

In other control efforts, the director said more than 6800 birds from 80 species in 7 provinces had been tested for the deadly H5N1 strain of the virus. The result of the tests will be disclosed soon.
